In language and culture-conscious early childhood education, one’s own language, culture, religion and view are made visible. The child feels accepted. She / he acquires a strong foundation in his own language and culture, as well as in learning Finnish.
Support for mother tongue
Strong proficiency in one’s mother tongue helps the child learn other languages. The mother tongue is the language of emotions, as well as an important basis for the construction of identity. The child learns his or her own mother tongue and culture in his or her own family.
