The punk rock band Nyrkkitappelu has, since their very first show, declared themselves Finland’s biggest rock band – and with good reason. The band’s catchy melodies, electrifying guitar riffs, and concerts at both festivals and sold-out clubs have drawn an ever-growing crowd of fans. The band’s new album will be released in February, and two singles have already seen the light of day: the punk rock anthem “Nosta sun nyrkkis ilmaan!” and the rocking “Soronoo.”
Nyrkkitappelu’s latest albums Isosta Nyrkistä Naamaan and Ongelmanuorten Sävellahja have both reached the top ten on the album charts and received glowing reviews. In the band’s music one can hear echoes of both scandirock heroes and classic Finnish rock, without forgetting the colorful cultural heritage of the Tampere region. Nyrkkitappelu is one of Finland’s most popular punk rock bands and has made a name for itself as an energetic and fast-paced live act.
