Theater Trip: The Brothers Lionheart

Porvoo City Youth Services will organize a theater trip to Helsinki City Theatre during the winter break in February. On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, Astrid Lindgren’s beloved classic The Brothers Lionheart will be performed on the Main Stage, and the excursion is open to children, youth, and adults.

This magical fantasy adventure takes the audience to Nangijala, a world where courage and brotherhood carry you through even the hardest times. The story follows brothers Korpus and Jonathan as they confront the forces of evil and discover their own Lionheart courage along the way. The performance is recommended for children over 9 years old and lasts approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes (including intermission). The play is in Finnish with subtitles in Finnish, Swedish, and English.

Schedule and Transportation
The bus departs on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 17:00 from the tourist stop at Fredsgatan 20, Porvoo. Return to the same location is estimated around 22:00.

Price
The price for the trip is €25 for ages 9–16 and €55 for ages 17 and older. The price includes round-trip transportation, theater ticket, and accident insurance for Porvoo residents during the trip. The trip will be invoiced through the city’s billing system.
