TOPMOST is one of the most significant bands in FINNISH POP HISTORY!
It has been 60 years since the founding of Topmost. In Finnish terms—and even worldwide—this lineup is unique: the band still performs with almost its original members (4 out of 6).
Topmost was Finland’s most popular band in 1966–67. It was also very well-known in the Nordic countries. “Nothing this fantastic has been heard since the Beatles,” praised the newspaper Expressen in 1966.
The anniversary year 2024 was unforgettable for Topmost. Concert halls filled up impressively, and at times the atmosphere was nearly “ecstatic.”
On March 7, 2025, Gugi Kokljuschkin, founding member and one of the band’s two lead singers, passed away due to a rapidly progressing illness. Despite this great sorrow and loss, Topmost has decided to continue without Gugi, with a slightly updated lineup.
Topmost still features four original members: Harri Saksala, Kisu Jernström, Holle Holopainen, and Eero Lupari. On keyboards is Mikko Rintanen—keyboardist, guitarist, and singer familiar from the bands of Remu, Hector, Kirka, and Wigwam.
