Niclas Warius (b. 1972) is known for his site-specific still life photographs and installations. The works in the exhibition were created in the historical milieu of Porvoo. The starting point of the photographs lies in Warius’s own experiences in his former hometown and in the stories of the Runeberg family, as well as the connections between them.
Warius’s works deal with deviations from norms, power relations and the transience of everything. In the rooms of the Home Museum, the works show the inexorability of time, the layering of things and the power of play.

The exhibition has been supported by Kulturfonden and Konstsamfundet, in cooperation with the City of Porvoo Cultural Services and the Porvoo Museum.
