The Porvoo bus

The Porvoo bus traffic offers a functional and inexpensive way to get around Porvoo and the surrounding areas, whether you are travelling on the city bus routes, the demand responsive transport Kyläkyyti or the archipelago traffic.

Porvoo’s own bus traffic is complemented by ticket cooperations, regional traffic organised by the Traficom, and connections to Helsinki and nearby towns offered by various companies.

The Porvoo bus routes

The Porvoo Bus services consist of local and archipelago routes.

Local services operate on routes 1, 2, 3 and 5, which serve the main residential areas of Porvoo and provide smooth connections to the city centre.
Archipelago services operate on routes S1–S4, offering connections to island villages and leisure destinations.

In addition, the broader regional connections in the Porvoo area are complemented by regional routes organised by Traficom. These routes link Porvoo with other municipalities and urban centres in the region.

Local routes:

  • Line 1 and 1E: Tolkkinen (Emäsalo)– Gammelbacka – Market Square – Hospital
  • Line 2 and 2H: Hamari (Hinthaara) – Market Square – Huhtinen – Tarmola
  • Line 3: Kuninkaanportti – Market Square – Tarmola – Hospital
  • Line 5: Porvoo Cathedral – Näsi Health Centre – Swimming hall – Hospital

Archipelago routes:

  • Line S1: Market Square – Kråkö – Sondby
  • Line S2: Market Square – Voolahti – Tirmo
  • Line S3: Market Square – Epoo – Tirmo (– Pellinki)
  • Line S4: Market Square – Voolahti – Epoo

A few changes to regional bus service timetables starting 24 August

There have been a few timetable changes to the regional bus services on the routes Porvoo–Pukkila, Pukkila–Porvoo, Askola–Porvoo, and Porvoo–Askola.

Student tickets available on Porvoo Bus from 3 August

As a student, you can travel at a discounted price on Porvoo buses. Student ticket products are available only through the Matkahuolto Matkat mobile appBefore you can buy a student ticket, you must verify your student status at Porvoo Info starting from 3 August.

How to travel to Helsinki or to the airport?

Note! Porvoo bus is the city’s local bus service. Various companies offer connections to Helsinki and nearby towns, and these routes, timetables and tickets can be found on the companies’ own websites.

Different lines and routes drive from Porvoo to Helsinki. For example:

  • OB7 Porvoo – Helsinki (express bus)
  • OB71 Helsinki – Porvoo – Loviisa
  • OB72 Helsinki – Porvoo – Kevätkumpu – Hospital (Porvoo)
  • OB77 Turku – Pasila – Porvoo
  • OB78 Helsinki – Söderkulla – Porvoo
  • 788 Helsinki – Nikkilä – Porvoo

You can reach the airport from Porvoo via Tikkurila. Bus Travel Oy Reissu Ruoti operates line 999 Porvoo – Vantaa.

Public transport on Sundays and holidays

During the holidays listed below, public transport will run according to the Sunday schedule. Applies to Porvoo bus lines 1, 2, 3 and 5, as well as the archipelago lines S1–S4. On the day before the holiday, buses run according to the normal schedule.
