Porvoo Art School
Porvoo Art School offers basic education in visual arts for children and young people aged 1–19 in Porvoo and Sipoo, following the national comprehensive curriculum. The school’s operations include basic education groups, Arts n` Music School (Kuvismuskari), and Konstikas afternoon activities. The Art School also offers courses open to adults.
Porvoo Art School teaches a visual language. The work process itself is often more valuable than the actual product. The focus is on developing different visual abilities than just producing works of art. The Art School shows how to use different materials in a variety of ways and teaches the value of your own work as well as the work of others. As one’s own creativity and modes of expression develop, the ability to interpret images and visual culture also expands.
