Riverside Sound Sessions is a brand-new event concept, bringing together sound system parties and Finland’s top live artists from the worlds of reggae, dub, and afrobeats. The event will take place in the lush and atmospheric riverside setting of the Cultural Ship (Kulttuurilaiva) in Porvoo.
At the very first Riverside Sound Sessions event, leading names from Finland’s dub scene (Ivah Sound, Dreadlock Tales Dub Sound & Arctic Fox) will perform. Their deep and immersive sound journeys will be delivered through a custom-built, handcrafted speaker system by Finnish sound system pioneer Ivah Sound.
The night, full of bass-heavy music and danceable rhythms, will culminate in a live performance by the skilled Senegalese artist Ombre Zion, backed by his band The Riddiments, featuring top Finnish musicians.
Expect beautiful melodies, body-shaking bass, treats from the café, a warm atmosphere, and a unique vibe — this is an event you don’t want to miss!

Ombre Zion (SEN) & The Riddiments will immerse you in a reggae new roots, afrobeats, Afro fusion, pop, soul, and rock atmosphere, without forgetting a touch of traditional African music. A well-crafted fusion that transports you through beautiful melodies. The evening will be an opportunity to present his latest album, featuring songs much loved by his fans during concerts across Europe, Canada, and beyond. A concert you definitely don’t want to miss!
Songs in English, French, and Wolof (his native language) will be performed. All in a welcoming family atmosphere.
The Riddiments perform with deep experience and groove. The band members have been playing in live bands of international reggae stars, such as Luciano, Peetah Morgan, and Antony B in their gigs in Finland. They also play in many local lineups, such as Jukka Poika’s live band, The Capital Beat, Punky Reggae Band, Liljan Loisto, and with Charlotta Kerbs.

IVAH SOUND
Ivah Sound, a force to be reckoned with in the Finnish Sound System Culture, emerged from the southern part of Finland back in 2010. Since then, they have solidified their position as an essential component of this vibrant scene, embarking on extensive tours across both Europe and their homeland. Along the way, they have been instrumental in pushing the boundaries of the culture and exposing it to previously uncharted territories.
At the core of Ivah Sound’s musical identity lies a deep-rooted passion for conscious bass music, drawing inspiration from the genres of roots reggae and dub. What sets them apart is their unwavering commitment to delivering a truly unique sonic experience. They accomplish this by utilizing their very own handcrafted sound system, complemented by an array of distinctive effects and equipment. Together, these elements converge to produce the unmistakable and enchanting soundscape that is distinctly Ivah; a mesmerizing journey that traverses the realms of roots, dub, steppas, and ventures far beyond.

DREADLOCK TALES DUB SOUND
Dreadlock Tales is a dub reggae production studio, sound system and a label based in Helsinki, Finland. The project was originally founded in 1999 as a studio project, but evolved later on in 2004 to a touring live dub show and to record selection.
Dreadlock Tales Dub Sound System was founded in 2019 and is heavily influenced by the works of the great late Jah Shaka. In sound and spirit. Working hard on bringing his favourite names from UK to Finland to feature on the sound system for people to experience.
Dreadlock Tales Dub Sound selection is focused on the mystical side of dub reggae music. UK Dub & UK Roots being the center of the sound. Armed with dubplates from dub producers around the world and specials from Dreadlock Tales Studio.
Dreadlock Tales is known for its mythical soundscapes on onedrop and stepper rhythms. Influenced by the forests of Finland that he considers the only true home. Kalevala in Dub.
ARCTIC FOX
Arctic Fox, a rising name in the dub scene, has already been performing with some of the best company in the country. Her inspiring sets are made of dup and steppers, that are greatly influenced by UK dub and 90’s dub. She loves hard basspounding, mantras and rugged atmosphere.
