Transferring of a leasehold

To transfer a leasehold, you need:

• Copy of the deed of sale (sales contract) or a scanned version of the deed.
• If the transaction has been made in the National Land Survey’s Property Transaction Service, please also include an attachment which indicates the date of the transfer of the right of possession, or when the obligation to pay rent on the plot is transferred to the buyer.

Send the deed via the City of Porvoo Digital Services:

• scan the deed
• select “Asiakirjojen toimitus” from the ePorvoo Asuminen page or “Inlämnande av dokument” from the ePorvoo Boende page
• sign in with strong authentication
• fill out the form, attach the file, and send it

or as a paper copy:

• copy the deed
• bring the deed to the Porvoo Info in an envelope with ‘Maan hankinta ja luovutus’ written on it; or
• send the envelope by post to:, Porvoon kaupunki, Maan hankinta ja luovutus, PL 23, 06101 Porvoo.

In addition to the city of Porvoo, you must notify the National Land Survey of Finland of the transferring of a leasehold. More on this on the National Land Survey website.
