Meeting Point

Meeting Point is a meeting place for all migrants located in the KoMbi building at Mannerheiminkatu 15, 06100 Porvoo. Meeting Point courses are free for residents of Porvoo. You can study Finnish, practice digital skills, engage in handicrafts, and explore visual arts. Kansalaisopisto is developing these activities in collaboration with customers and the city’s services promoting integration.

You can view courses and register on the website. If you are unable to use the internet, you can also register at the kansalaisopisto office in the KoMbi building at Mannerheiminkatu 15.

Digital Support for migrants

Mondays from 15:30 to 17:00 at the KoMbi building, Mannerheiminkatu 15.

Multilingual free digital guidance. We provide personalized assistance with the use of your own computers, tablets, and smartphones. You can join once or multiple times, as many times as you need help.

Evening courses

At Kansalaisopisto, you can also study Finnish in the evening. The courses are fee-based. Pre-registration is required for evening courses. Register for the course online.

If you are unable to use the internet, you can also register at the kansalaisopisto office.

Literacy and writing course

The Adult Education Center organizes literacy and writing instruction for adult immigrants. The basic literacy and writing course focus on speaking, reading, and writing in Finnish. It is designed for adults who have moved to Finland and cannot read and write in the Latin alphabet or those who need to strengthen their literacy skills. The student must have a valid integration plan. The course includes 20 hours of classroom teaching per week, 4 hours per day.

Finnish language study counseling

Finnish language study counseling is available at the KoMbi building (Mannerheiminkatu 15) on Mondays from 14:00 to 16:00. Study counseling can assist if you:

  • Have questions about Finnish courses.
  • Are looking for a suitable course for yourself or a friend.
