Public beaches

Hasselholma Beach is located on the shore of Lake Veckjärvi. It is especially suitable for families with children.

The beach has toilets, changing rooms, barbecue facilities, a grass playing field, a grass volleyball court and a children’s playground. There is a nature trail near the beach.

Changing rooms are open when personnel is present during the swimming season from June 7 to August 11, 2024.

The Kokonniemi beach is located near the city centre, by a swimming pond. The beach has changing rooms, showers, toilets, a kiosk and a beach volleyball court. The parking area is by the ice rink.

During the swimming season from June 4 to August 11, 2024, personnel is present and the changing rooms are open from 7.30 to 20.30 on the weekdays and from 10 to 20.30 on weekends.

In the winter, the pond is open for ice swimming. The changing rooms and showers are also available in the winter.

The Kokonniemi Sports Centre near the beach offers a wide range of sports facilities, including an outdoor gym and bocce courts.

Dog bathing on public beaches is prohibited by the Public Order Act, but there are beach areas in Porvoo, such as in Maari and in Gammelbacka, where dog bathing is allowed under everyman’s rights and in one’s own responsibility.
