Kids’ Manor
Children’s culture will take over Näsin Kartano again in May-June 2026, as a group of local children’s culture professionals, together with the citys Cultural Services, will take charge of the manor. The manor is open during events and in june weekdays from 10-16 (not 1.6 and 19.6).
Kids’ Manor pop-up children’s culture center opens its doors to the public on May 9th.
This year, the manor will be filled with poems and words. The manor is open during events and in june weekdays from 10-16 (not 1.6 and 19.6).
The exhibition, titled “Bubbles of Joy”, showcases poems by Hanna Lundström and illustrations by Maija Mendelin. Visitors can also experience the Dragon Princess’s Room, admire the Mirror Paradise, and explore Little Porvoo.
In addition to the exhibitions, the manor will host workshops, performances, and other creative activities. On Saturdays, there will be open doors for the public, and a pop-up café will also be available.

The first Kids’ Manor pop-up children’s cultural centre was arranged in 2025 and attracted about 2000 visitors in just under two months. The event was arranged by the City of Porvoo Cultural Services in collaboration with the artistic team. The artistic team consisted of local children’s cultural workers word artist Mari Anttonen, writer and illustrator Filippa Hella, art educator Liini Laes and puppet theatre artist Anne Lihavainen.

Bubbles of Joy

The Bubbles of Joy exhibition features poems by the Finnish author Hanna Lundström. Lundström has written three poetry books for children, and poems from these books are displayed in three themed rooms: the forest room, the cherry blossom room, and the city room. Alongside the poems, the exhibition showcases illustrations by Maija Mendelin, created for Lundström’s poetry books. Bubbles of Hoy is being presented at Children’s Manor for the very first time.

The Dragon Princess’s Room
“The Dragon Princess” is an old Chinese folk tale that Theater Helmi adapted into a puppet show in 2007. The exhibition features the magnificent puppets created by Teija Paananen for the production.

The Mirror Paradise
Mirror Paradise is a space designed for babies—an educational installation centered around various reflective materials and surfaces. In Mirror Paradise, babies can roll around, marvel at their surroundings, and giggle. The elements of the space attract and encourage babies to play and explore together with their own adult.
