Pia Kousa

In my works, inventions borrowed from early media culture and archaic 3D technology merge and overlap with contemporary methods of image reproduction. The imagery moves between two- and three-dimensionality, transforming from surface into spatial form through layered compositions made up of multiple image planes. The structural solutions in my works are often inspired by the heyday of optical inventions, philosophical toys, panorama displays, peep boxes, and stereoscopes.
