Hamarin koulu is a single-stream primary school with approximately 140 students. The current school building was completed in 2011. The school is located near excellent outdoor recreation areas and a sports field.
At Hamarin koulu, a calm working environment and a warm, safe atmosphere are very important to us. In our teaching, we emphasize the importance of reading and an active lifestyle.
The village of Hamari is located five kilometers southwest of the center of Porvoo. What makes the village distinctive is its proximity to the sea and its history. Several shipyards have operated in Hamari, and on the nearby islands there was once a steam-powered sawmill, for whose workers´ children the school was originally established.
