Comprehensive school education

Education in childhood and youth, 7–16 years. School grades 1–9.

Comprehensive school education refers to the education provided in grades 1–9. Comprehensive education is part of the educational continuum that begins with preschool and lays the knowledge and skills foundation for life. The purpose of comprehensive education is to support pupils’ growth as individuals and members of the society. Comprehensive education provides pupils with the skills and qualifications they need to continue on to upper secondary education.
