Kvarnbackens skola is Porvoo´s largest Swedish comprehensive school for grades 1–6. The school has a pleasant and spacious yard, and there is a sports field right next to it. The school is located near the city center in a calm and green residential area of detached houses. The most recent renovation of the school building was completed in the 2018–2019 school year.
