Early Childhood Introductory Studies, Ages 1–5

In early childhood art education, children explore artistic phenomena through playful activities. Teaching enriches the imagination and provides diverse practice in sensory exploration and self-expression.

The children learn to:

  • create their own images and explore different visual art phenomena such as form, texture, space, movement, rhythm, color, and light
  • practice using different materials, tools, and working methods, as well as basic tool maintenance
  • observe and interpret surrounding nature, the built environment, and everyday objects, and practice transforming observations and imagination into images
  • practice concentration and consideration for others
  • explore images conveyed through different media, evaluate them, and create their own visual messages
  • visit museums and exhibitions, go on excursions to nature and various cultural environments, and process their experiences through visual art
