Our other services
Board games
You can borrow board games from the library. The loan period for board games is two weeks and they cannot be reserved. However, games are not sent to other locations and can only be borrowed from the main library. Even if a board game appears to be on loan in the online library (red cross), it is available for borrowing if the website does not show a due date.
E-library: always with you
E-library is a shared service for municipalities, from which you can borrow e-books, audiobooks and digital magazines. The service is provided by the National Library of Finland in cooperation with public libraries.
Access the E-library with the E-library app, which you can download to a mobile device from app stores.
Exercise equipment
Various exercise equipment can be borrowed from the main library. For example, walking poles, disc golf sets, padel clubs, hula hoops, stick horses and compasses are available.
The loan period for sports equipment is ten days and the loans cannot be renewed or reserved. The equipment is not sent to other libraries: you can only access the equipment in the main library.
Multilingual Library
The multilingual library’s collection includes material for adults, young people and children in over 80 languages. Most of the works in the Multilingual Library are books, but the collection also includes music, films and magazines.
The library is physically located in Pasila, Helsinki, but you can borrow works from the Multilingual Library’s collection from anywhere in Finland. You can request a loan through your local library.
Musical instruments
The main library has an electric piano that can be played with headphones, without a booking. You can also borrow a ukulele or an acoustic guitar.
InfoFinland
InfoFinland is a multilingual website that brings together important information for those planning to move to Finland and those already living here. InfoFinland has the same texts in 12 languages.
InfoFinland contains reliable information on moving to Finland, work, studies, housing, education, health, family, problems that can arise and leisure. InfoFinland also has a lot of information about libraries and how to use them.
