Course registration

Instructions on how to register for courses and other activities at Porvoo Adult Education Centre.

Instructions

Registration for courses should generally be completed no later than seven days before the course begins. Registrations for available spots are accepted throughout the academic year.

You can register electronically via the institute’s online service, by phone, or in person at the office. Registration is not possible via email, text message, or voicemail.

Participants are admitted to courses in the order of registration. Waitlisted participants will receive a personal notification if a spot becomes available. Participants are informed via text message, email, or phone about changes to individual courses and receive an email reminder before the course starts.

Cancellation Terms

Cancellation of a course registration must be made no later than seven calendar days before the course begins. If the cancellation is made too late or not at all, the full course fee will be charged. Registration can be cancelled online or via the office by email.

There are no free trial sessions for courses. By registering, you commit to paying the course fee. Any unpaid course fee will be transferred to a collection agency after the due date.

Upon presentation of a medical certificate from a doctor or nurse, we will refund the course fee or part of it in proportion to the remaining sessions if you fall ill and are unable to attend the course. However, we do not refund course fees under €10. We also do not refund the course fee if you discontinue participation for any reason other than illness.

The course fee will be refunded if the course is cancelled or discontinued due to a decrease in the number of participants. As a rule, one (1) cancelled session will not be compensated with an additional session in longer courses. The institute does not refund amounts under €10.

Cancellation of studies in open university education must be made in writing by email to both the institute’s office and the office of the open university organizing the studies.
